Gold Star Monument Unveiling

Gold Star Mothers and Families Day is a solemn time to honor the mothers, fathers, spouses, children, siblings, and loved ones of our nation’s fallen heroes. These Gold Star survivors carry forward the memory and legacy of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.
The Purple Heart Project of Texas believes honoring our fallen also means standing beside the families they left behind. Through remembrance, fellowship, community gatherings, and continued support, we strive to ensure our Gold Star Families know they are never forgotten and never alone.
This year carries an especially meaningful purpose with the unveiling of the Gold Star Families Monument at Boerne Veterans Plaza. This monument will stand as a permanent symbol of remembrance, sacrifice, and gratitude—honoring Gold Star Mothers, Families, and survivors not only within the Boerne community, but across the great State of Texas.
More than stone and bronze, this monument represents a promise: their loved ones will be remembered, their sacrifice will be honored, and their families will always have a place within our community.
By coming together, sharing their stories, honoring their loved ones, and simply being present, we strengthen a bond of fellowship that extends far beyond a single ceremony or day of remembrance.
We remember the fallen. We honor their families. We carry their legacy forward—together.
